The BEST Turkey Chili

This recipe has become a family favorite in our household and I hope you and your family enjoy it just as much.

Yield: 5 servings
3 teaspoons avocado oil
1 red onion, chopped
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
1 pound 99% lean ground turkey
4 tablespoons chili powder
2½ teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon pink Himalayan salt, plus more to taste
1 28-ounce can diced tomatoes or crushed tomatoes
1½ cups turkey or chicken bone broth
2 15-ounce cans red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 15-ounce can sweet corn, rinsed and drained

1. Place oil in a large pot and place over medium high heat. Add in onion, garlic and red pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.

2. Add in ground turkey and break up the meat; cooking until no longer pink. Next add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, cayenne pepper and salt; stir for 15-20 seconds.

3. Add in tomatoes, bone broth, kidney beans and corn. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes or until chili thickens and flavors merge. Taste and adjust salt and seasonings as necessary.

4. Optional: Top with fresh chopped avocado and cilantro and enjoy with organic, blue corn tortilla chips
